Mission Soaring LLC has been serving the Northern California hang gliding community since 1973.

The Mission Soaring Hang Gliding school provides professional training on state-of-the-art equipment at our dedicated training site at Tres Pinos (near Hollister, CA),.. just south of the San Jose / San Francisco Bay Area. We are ready to help you become a pilot today! We supply all your equipment for your hang gliding lessons. As you become a pilot, we can fit you with everything you need in our complete Sales/Service Facility in Milpitas, CA.

Hat Creek Flying Safari

Situated between Mount Lassen and Mount Shasta along a vocanic rock ridge is the Hat Creek Rim flying site which regulalry provides a wonderful glass off evening flight ideal for newer pilots seeking a high altitude experience.

Mission Soaring Center will be providing a USHPA  Advanced Instructor to mentor and safely introduce pilots to this wonderful flying site. Come and join us!

Parachute Clinic

Want to learn how to throw your chute?
In an emergency, you need to know when to throw, how to throw and the procedures for using your emergency parachute.

Our parachute clinic this year will be on Thursday May 30th, 2013, at Mission Soaring Center.  It will start at 7:00 pm and finish at 10:00pm.  There will be a lecture followed by practice … you need to develop that muscle memory.  We will also have a parachute packing demonstration.  Bring your harness and chute.

Why Mission?

Pat Denevan and his instructors at Mission Soaring Center have been teaching hang gliding for 40 years. Pat is a leader in the hang gliding community - he has been instrumental in developing the teaching standards for the United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (USHPA). He is currently the Flight Director for the Wings of Rogallo, the largest hang gliding club in the US. Mission Soaring LLC is recognized world-wide for safety and customer satisfaction.

We welcome you to come to our shop in Milpitas for a Hang Gliding Orientation any time during shop hours. You will have the opportunity to try our hang glider simulator and see our beginner flight training video.
